Composing the email
Edit the subject, greeting, message, and signature before a report goes out — preview the exact email, and save your go-to messages as reusable templates.
When you email a report from LendrTech, the send window is a full email composer: you write and preview the exact message your borrower receives, and you can save the ones you reuse. It builds on the basics in sharing reports with borrowers.
Compose on the left, preview on the right
Click Send in the report builder top bar (it appears once the client has an email address on file — add one on their client page if it's missing). The window opens with your message on the left and a live Preview on the right that updates as you type, so what you see is exactly what lands in the inbox. Switch the preview between the Email and PDF tabs to check both, and use Attach PDF to include or leave off the PDF attachment.
Who it comes from
The From line at the top of the window is fixed, and it says what your borrower will see in their inbox: LendrTech (team@lendrtech.com), not your own address. Your address goes on the Cc line of every send instead, so you always keep a copy of exactly what went out — the You're Cc'd tag beside the From line is the reminder.
Who it goes to
The To box opens with the client's email address from their record, and you can add anyone else who belongs on the email — a co-borrower, a spouse, the buyer's agent. Type an address and press Enter (or paste a whole list) and each one becomes its own tag; click the × on a tag to take that person off, including the client's own address if this one's going somewhere else.
Need someone copied rather than addressed? Two buttons sit beside the To label:
- + Cc opens a Cc line. Everyone on the email can see who's Cc'd.
- + Bcc opens a Bcc line. Bcc'd people get the email, but nobody else on it can see they were included — use it for someone on your side, like a processor or your manager.
Both work exactly like the To box, and their button tucks away once the line has someone on it (a line with addresses on it stays visible, so you can't hide who you're about to email). Empty it and the button comes back.
You're CC'd on every send, so you always keep a copy of exactly what went out. Each address is checked before the email leaves — if one of them isn't a valid address, the send stops and the window stays open with the offender marked, so a typo never quietly drops someone off the list.
One email can go to at most ten people across To, Cc and Bcc combined — enough for a couple, their agent and anyone else on the loan, and a guard against a report going out as a mailing list.
Recipients start over from the client's record each time you open the window; they're not saved into a template, so a template can never carry the last borrower's co-signer into the next send.
Editing what your borrower reads
Every part of the email is yours to edit:
- Subject — starts as a clean, borrower-friendly line (Your loan analysis from your company) rather than your internal report name. Change it to whatever fits.
- Greeting and Signature — the opening and sign-off, edited separately from the body.
- Message — the note itself. Drop in a link to the report with Insert link, or embed a chart with Insert chart — the two menus sit on the row just under the message box. Either one lands in your message as a placeholder in bold blue — Static Report (Link), Monthly Payment Comparison (Chart) — which marks the spot rather than being text your borrower reads: the preview on the right shows the real link or chart in its place. Move a placeholder anywhere by cutting and pasting it, or delete it to leave that link or chart out.
Saving templates
Write an email once and reuse it — it's the fastest way to cut this window down to a read-and-send, and on the Max plan it saves regenerating with AI something you already like. Click Save as template, give it a Template name, and it's saved to your account. Next time, pick it from the Template list at the top of the window (it defaults to — Start from scratch —) to fill in the subject and message in one click. Check Use by default to have a template pre-fill the window automatically, or Delete one you no longer need.
The button tells you where you stand. Once the email in front of you matches one of your templates it reads Saved and stops offering — so you can't end up with the same email stored twice under two names. Change the subject, the message, or the Attach PDF setting and it turns back into Save as template, ready to store that version as its own.
Templates save the wording, not the borrower — the greeting always resolves to whoever you're sending to, so a template can never carry a stale name. They don't save the recipients either, and the signature stays your account's.
Before you send
- Watch the preview. It's the real email; if a number in the attached report looks off, cancel and fix the fee sheet first.
- Keep the link in. If you clear the message down to a truly blank note, remember to add the report link back with Insert link — a saved template keeps it for you.
- Check the To line. Anyone on it gets the report link, and that link opens the report for whoever holds it — so treat an extra recipient the same way you'd treat handing over the PDF.
