Meet Sage

Sage is your in-app assistant — ask how a mortgage concept works or where to find something in LendrTech, right from any page.

Sage is a built-in assistant that lives in every LendrTech screen. Tap the help bubble in the bottom-right corner and ask it how a mortgage concept works, or where something lives in the app — it answers in plain language, in the context of whatever page you're on.

Sage is there for you, the loan officer. Your borrowers never see it.

Where to find Sage

Look for the round help bubble anchored to the bottom-right corner of every page once you're signed in — your dashboard, a client's page, the fee sheet form, the report builder, settings, everywhere. Click it to open the Sage panel, type a question in the box that reads Ask about a screen, a term, or a workflow…, and press send. Not sure where to start? Sage offers a few opening questions like How do I build my first fee sheet? or What's the difference between APR and note rate?

What Sage is good at

Three things, really:

  • Finding your way around. Ask "where do I add a client?" or "how do I import a fee sheet?" and Sage points you to the exact buttons to click and the path to follow — a quick way to get unstuck without leaving the page. It's the same ground the getting-started guide covers, on demand.
  • Explaining the concepts. Ask what APR includes, how mortgage insurance is structured, what discount points do, or how a buydown works, and Sage explains it like a seasoned LO walking a newer one through it. When an example helps, it invents round numbers and puts them inside an Example — not your file note, so an illustration is never mistaken for your borrower's real figures.
  • Explaining your own numbers. "How is my borrower saving $99,697 over 120 months?" is a fair question, and Sage answers it: what the figure is made of, which numbers went into it, and how they add up. Tell it the figures it needs — what they pay today, what the new payment is, what the refinance costs up front — and it walks you through the arithmetic in plain words. On the Max plan, switching Sage to Actions skips the retyping: it opens the saved report and reads the figures off it for you.

What Sage won't do

Sage explains your figures; it never becomes a second source of them. It won't state a number you didn't give it — no estimating to fill a gap, no producing its own version of a payment, APR, or cash-to-close. If it's missing something, it names the figure and asks. And if its own working disagrees with what's on your screen, it says so and defers to the app: the fee sheet and the report builder are the source of truth, and a mismatch usually means an input is missing rather than the report being wrong.

It also won't tell you what to quote or charge, or judge whether one of your figures looks good — that call is yours.

It also won't stand in for compliance guidance — disclosure timing, day counts, waiting periods, and the like. For those it'll tell you to check your own compliance source rather than hand you a number that could be wrong for your situation.

And if you ask about something Sage hasn't been taught yet, it'll say so and suggest emailing team@lendrtech.com instead of inventing an answer.

Your chats

Sage keeps the conversation going as you move around the app, so a thread follows you from screen to screen. In the panel's top-right corner, the + icon starts a new chat and the history icon (its tooltip reads Past chats) reopens an earlier one. Close Sage with the × in that same corner.

Who can use Sage

Everyone with a LendrTech login, including during a trial. There's nothing to switch on and no plan requirement — the help bubble is simply there when you need it.

Asking Sage does draw on your plan's monthly AI assistance — one pool shared with the other places AI writes or builds for you. It sits as a slim bar under the box you type in, which starts naming the figure once you've used enough of it to matter, and in full on the AI assistance card under Settings → Billing. It refills at the start of each month.

But Sage's answers are never switched off by it. If the pool runs out you can still ask, and Sage will still answer and walk you through doing the work yourself — it's the writing and building that pause, not the help.
